Introduction
The New EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into force on 25 May 2018 and will impact every organisation which holds or processes personal data. It will introduce new responsibilities, including the need to demonstrate compliance, more stringent enforcement and substantially increased penalties than the current Data Protection Act (DPA) which it will supersede.
Kirton Sectional Buildings LTD is committed to high standards of information security, privacy and transparency. The company will comply with applicable GDPR regulations when they take effect in 2018, working closely with our customers and agents to meet contractual obligations for our procedures, products and services.
The company has main area of focus in preparing for GDPR including the provision of services and solutions which help customers and employees to understand and prepare for GDPR,
Kirton Sectional Building’s Data Protection Officers will inform, advise and monitor compliance. The company will implement tools as appropriate that support the process, provide necessary security and ongoing delivery of objective.
Customers Data
Customers should contact the Data Protection Officer’s if they wish to better understand what data is being retained and for what purpose. Available via subject access request or their wish to be ‘forgotten’. Customers details are only stored for retention requirements, stored in a secure location and then destroyed by shredding (physical copies). No information is shared with any 3rd parties or used for any marketing purposes.
Customer’s data is provided for supply/ delivery of goods/ services purposes, and are necessary for Kirton Sectional Buildings to request, to complete our contractual obligations. This Data is stored in the main office, which is not left un-attended and is secured each evening. Any customer’s data that is provided for the purposes of quotation electronically, is stored on password protected desktop computers, which are kept on site at all times.
